Tribunal and documented holding
This is an Attorney General decision, not a BIA decision. The opinion identifies the precedents it overrules and directs adjudicators to follow A-B- I and II. This distinction matters when reading older asylum guides on private-actor persecution or domestic violence. The linked 2021 Matter of A-B- entry is expressly marked historical and overruled.
Limits and later authority
The decision does not automatically resolve each individual asylum claim. Statutory eligibility, the particular social group, nexus, state protection, circuit precedent and subsequent litigation may matter. INA §208 remains the statutory asylum framework. No exhaustive subsequent-history certification is claimed; check the full opinion and later applicable court rulings.
